Spartanburg schools staffed for the first day of classes

THE PURPOSE OF THE TAX IS TO GENERATE MONEY TO THE STATE AND LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES. THIS WEEKEND MARKS THE END OF SUMMER FOR THOUSANDS OF STUDENTS IN THE UPSTATE. SPARTANBURG COUNTY SCHOOLS STARTING CLASSES MONDAY MORNING BRIGHT AND EARLY. ARE THEY READY FOR THAT FIRST DAY? 7 NEWS REPORTER STEFANY BORNMAN IS STANDING BY LIVE. ARE THEY READY TO GO? AMY, WELL, WE CAN’T GET THE SCHOOL YEAR STARTED IF WE CAN’T GET THE STUDENTS TO SCHOOL. SO I DID DECIDE TO CHECK IN WITH ALL SEVEN DISTRICTS HERE IN SPARTANBURG TO FIND OUT IF THEY’RE FULLY STAFFED AND READY TO GO. THOUSANDS OF STUDENTS HERE IN SPARTANBURG USE THE BUS TO GET TO AND FROM SCHOOL. THEY ARE FULLY STAFFED WITH BUS DRIVERS FOR THE NEW SCHOOL YEAR. THE EMPLOYMENT WEBSITE FOR DISTRICTS 1, 2, AND 5 SHOW THEY ARE STILL ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR BUS DRIVERS AND BUS MONITORS. DISTRICT 3 JUST UNDERWENT REZONING WHICH WILL NOT AFFECT OPERATIONS ON MONDAY. EVERYBODY IS EXCITED AND JUST LIKE ANY OTHER BIG EVENT, THERE POSSIBLY SOMETHING THAT YOU’RE NOT EXPECTING. SO IF FOR SOME REASON THE BUS WOULD BE A COUPLE OF MINUTES LATE, IT WILL ARRIVE AND BE THERE. WE’RE ALSO TOLD THAT SPARTANBURG PD HAS SUCCESSFULLY FILLED ALL THE CROSSING GUARD POSITIONS FOR THIS YEAR.
